The Routine Reconnaissance of Rarefied Resources” is a quest in The Outer Worlds 2 located on Paradise Island in the Auntie’s Choice territory. This article will guide the player on how to complete all the objectives of the quest in The Outer Worlds 2.

Starting Location
To start the quest, travel to the forest area east of Fairfield, where you’ll find an NPC named Betsy Szmuch wearing a green uniform. She’s located in the middle of the forest. Check the map below for her exact spot. Talk to her and offer to help her search for rare resources to begin the side quest.
Collect Heartless Laphoria Samples (Near Bridge of the Reverent)
As the quest begins, your first task is to collect from two different locations. The first location is found directly east of the Bridge of the Reverent, in an area covered by a Zyranium gas cloud. Carefully collect one bud while avoiding the gas to stay safe.
Collect Heartless Laphoria Samples (Near the Automech Repair Center)
The next Heartless Laphoria is located southeast of the Automech Repair Center (ARC). Go to the spot shown on your map, but don’t go inside the compound. Instead, walk around the outside walls and keep going to the south side, where you’ll find the Heartless Laphoria just below the mouth of two giant pipes.
Collect Ferrochromium Samples
Return to Director Betsy Szmuch and share your findings about Heartless Laphoria. Your next task is to collect Ferrochromium, and Betsy will mark three locations where you can find it.
East Coast
Go to the East Coast near Westport, where the cliffs meet the sandy beach. Refer to the location on the map below. Go inside the small alcove to find it, or near the beach.
Far South-West
Located along the southwestern coastline, where the cliffs meet the sand. Multiple Ferrochromium plants are below the cliff.
Northern Ravine
You can find it in the ravine located north of Betsy’s position and east of the Bridge of the Reverent. Move down the slope and search along the mountain’s edge, where the Ferrochromium is hidden in a small corner of the rock wall or along the path.
After confirming all three Ferrochromium locations, return to Director Betsy Szmuch and share your findings. As a reward for your help, she’ll give you two crafting recipes: the Sentry Blade Covert Grip and the Defensive Plates.
