Starting Location
To start the “Better by Factors” companion quest in The Outer Worlds 2, head to Praetor and explore the area northwest of the Landing Pad. As you get close to the Automech Production Facility, VALERIE will automatically speak up, mentioning that she’s detecting another Mod Kit inside the building on the ground floor. This will start the quest.
Upgrade Kit for VALERIE inside the Automech Factory
All the enemies inside and around the Automech Production Facility will try to attack you. If you want to sneak past them, climb along the rock ledges on the right side of the building.
Or, if you prefer to fight, you can attack from the north side and take out the Dragoon mechs and Wasp drones near the main gate.
After the area is safe, go inside the facility and head to the right to reach a large hall. Enter the first door on the left, and you’ll find VALERIE’s Advanced Mod Kit inside a display case in the corner.
Once you pick up the Mod Kit, the Better by Factors companion quest will be complete.
