The Breaking New Ground live event in ARC Raiders launched with the 1.2.0 Patch and invites the entire community to work together toward a shared goal. In this event, raiders must donate materials to help Apollo repair the collapsed tunnels. Every contribution not only pushes the community progress bar forward but also rewards players with Merits, a special event currency used to claim rewards in later phases. How the Breaking New Ground Event Works
When you log into the game, you’ll see a pop-up or banner on the top-left of your screen that takes you directly to the Live Event page. From there, you’ll find details about the community mission:
“Help Apollo collect materials needed to repair the tunnels and exchange them for Merits.”
Right now, the community is in Phase 1, and progress has already reached around 5%. The goal for this phase is simple: donate scrap materials to help rebuild the tunnels.
How to Donate Materials
On the event screen, a Donations tab lets players contribute any spare materials they have. Every donation serves two purposes:
- Fills the global community progress bar
- Rewards you with Merits, which act as event currency
You’ll see the progress bar on the bottom-left of the screen, showing how close the community is to reaching 100% and triggering the next phase of the event.
Best Strategy for Phase 1: Fast Donations
To help the community reach 100% quickly, here’s the most efficient method:
- Donate all your spare materials in the Donations tab
- Visit your Workshop and click on Scrappy
- Claim junk and scrap items to refill your inventory
- Join a raid
- Collect more scrap
- Repeat the process: donate > claim > farm > donate
This loop ensures you contribute as often as possible while earning Merits along the way.
Phase 1 of the Breaking New Ground event is all about teamwork and resource sharing. The faster the community donates, the sooner Phase 2 begins and the closer we get to exploring the new Stella Montes map.
