This article will guide the player on how to complete the quest “Her Legacy” in Where Winds Meet.
Starting location
After finishing Chapter 1: Heaven Has No Pier, head to Heaven’s Pier and enter the brewery. Search the wine-jar shelves and check the ground between the third and fourth racks on the right side. You will find an unsent treasure map. Pick up the treasure map to start the quest.
Treasure Map Clue #1
As the quest starts, open the treasure map. It will point to a small pond about halfway between Peace Bell Tower and Heaven’s Pier. Before you go to the pond, make sure you have a fishing rod ready. When you get there, you’ll see Old Angler fishing.
Talk to him, and he’ll challenge you to a fishing competition. To win, reel the fish into the green zone as you reel it in. If you beat him, he’ll give you a letter and another treasure map.
Treasure Map Clue #2
Next, travel to the General’s Shrine and look around the area to find the clue. Use Wind Sense, and it will lead you to a pile of pots near the entrance of a building. Break the pots to get the next map, then talk to the Sweeping Villager nearby.
Treasure Map Clue #3
The treasure map points to a hut on a mountain. Travel to Kilnfire Ridge, near the Emperor Chai Temple, and head to the building on the hill east of the temple to speak with the Woodcutter. He’ll tell you that the “Heroine” left the next clue on the nearby rooftop.
Follow the quest marker to the roof beneath the tree and examine the scroll lying on the tiles to find the next clue. Then jump over to the rooftop of the Emperor Chai Temple and search near the hole in the roof. You’ll find another treasure clue.
Treasure Map Clue #4
Travel to Bamboo Abode. The next clue is located near the Northern Bamboo Grove Boundary Stone. Talk to the Hunter there and take part in his bird-shooting contest to earn your next hint. After you defeat him, he’ll give you a letter directing you to meet someone at the Bamboo Grove Hut.
Fast travel to the Bamboo Grove Hut and defeat the wolves nearby. Search the area near the entrance, you’ll find a pile of sacks filled with heads and a threatening note to Jiang pinned to the broken door. Discovering these clues will trigger the Twisted Destiny encounter.
Continue looking around the hut. Behind the building, near the steps, you’ll find Ruby’s Letter. Read it to receive the Ruby Knots, her final gift. Then head inside the hut and meditate; Ruby will appear in your dreams one last time.
