This guide covers the “Ogden’s Theory” side story in Monster Hunter Stories 3 (MHS3), where the NPC Ogden comes across a strange clue linked to an Exotic Seregios and its habitat in Canalta Timberland.
Starting Location
To start the “Ogden’s Theory” side story quest, you first need to complete the main story mission Forbidden Ground in Sheparden. Then return and speak with Ogden to unlock his second side story. Ogden will share a strange clue about a monster named Exotic Seregios in Canalta Timberland. He asks you to investigate the area and find out what is really going on.
Where to find Exotic Seregios
To find the monster, start at Blessing Hill Camp and head north through a narrow valley, following the small river. Stay along the water until you spot a path that slopes upward. Take this path to reach the top of the hill.
Once you’re up, move west and use a Monstie with a glide ability to cross over to the western cliff. On the other side, you will meet an NPC standing near a group of beehives.
After the conversation, head south toward the yellow marker on your map. This will lead you to a large open clearing filled with multiple beehives. Follow the marked path carefully as shown below.
At the clearing, Ogden explains that the only way to lure out the Seregios is by bringing in the specific monster it preys on. Nearby, you can also talk to the Honey Harvesting Man NPC. From these clues, it becomes clear that you need to bring an Arzuros into the clearing to lure the Seregios out.
Where to find Arzuros
To get an Arzuros, you need to find and hatch its egg. One of the easiest places to do this is near Blessing Hill Camp. Head to the marked location on your map where Arzuros can be found.
First, defeat an Arzuros and trigger it to retreat into its den. Once it retreats, enter the nearby den and follow the path inside until you reach the nest area. There, you will see multiple eggs. Search through them and pick up an Arzuros Egg.
After that, return to the stable and hatch it to add Arzuros to your party.
How to defeat Exotic Seregios
Once you hatch an Arzuros, add it to your party and go back to the Exotic Seregios area. This will make the monster come out so you can fight it. During the battle, keep Arzuros on the field, because the Seregios will mostly attack it. After you defeat the Exotic Seregios, the quest will end.
