Driving Out the Shadows is a quest in Crimson Desert where you need to track down Shane and locate a hidden explosive. This walkthrough will take you through all the objectives of the quest “Driving Out the Shadows”.
Search for Shane’s whereabouts
As the quest starts, head to the location marked on the map in the northern part of Pailune City. Enter the house to trigger a cutscene with Shane.
Find the hidden explosive
After the cutscene, your next task is to find the hidden explosive. Start by looking around the room for a set of barrels. These are sitting on top of a hatch on the floor, so you will need to clear the area before you can access it. Pick up the barrels and move them out of the way. You will also notice some dead bodies near the barrels, so move those out of the way as well.
Once the area is cleared, you will see a hatch on the floor where the barrels were sitting. Walk up to it and open it. Inside, you will find the hidden explosive. Interact with it to pick it up.
Install the explosive device
With the explosive in hand, your next stop is the dock in Pauline. Head south and make your way down to the waterfront. Once you arrive at the dock, look for a small boat loaded up with wooden barrels. Walk up to it and hold X to plant the explosive device onto the boat.
Wait for the right moment
Once the explosive is planted, a cutscene will trigger automatically. The quest ends after the cutscene.
