The Cult’s Recipe is one of the quests tied to Diego’s Casting Shadows questline in Gothic 1 Remake, where Dexter sends you to the Swamp Camp to obtain a special recipe from Cor Kalom. This guide will show you how to reach the Swamp Camp, find Cor Kalom’s laboratory, and steal the recipe to complete the quest.
Starting Location
Dexter can be found in the southern part of the Old Camp marketplace, sitting under a stall covered with cloth. He is a general merchant who buys all kinds of items from players. Speak with him and select dialogue “I’m looking to join the Old camp and become a Shadow”. He will ask you to travel to the Swamp Camp and get the Potent Brew recipe from Cor Kalom.

Follow the steps below to find Kalom’s Recipe
Step 1: Buy Lockpicks
Before starting your journey, make sure to buy a few Lockpicks from Dexter or Mordrag in the Old Camp. You’ll need them later to open a locked chest inside Cor Kalom’s laboratory to obtain the recipe.
Step 2: Speak with Baal Parvez
Cor Kalom’s laboratory is located in the Swamp Camp. To get there safely, look for Baal Parvez, who can be found sitting near the campfires close to the trading district in the Old Camp. Speak with him and ask if he can take you to the Swamp Camp. Once he agrees to escort you, stay close and follow him along the path, and you’ll arrive at your destination.
Step 3: Speak with Lester
Once you arrive at the Swamp Camp, Baal Parvez will head back to the Old Camp. Speak with the Templars at the entrance to gain access to the camp.
Then, talk to NPC Lester and choose the dialogue option, “I’m looking for Cor Kalom’s Laboratory.” Lester will guide you through the camp and lead you straight to the Alchemy Lab.
Step 4: Steal Kalom’s Recipe
Enter the Alchemy Lab, and you’ll find Cor Kalom inside. Since he won’t give you the recipe willingly, you’ll have to steal it. Wait until 1:00 AM, when Cor Kalom and his apprentice are asleep, then sneak over to the chest behind the Alchemy Table. Use your Lockpicks to open the lock chest and take Cor Kalom’s Recipe.
