The Almanac quest in the Gothic 1 Remake quest sends players deep into a dangerous goblin-infested cave in search of a valuable almanac. This guide will walk you through the exact location of the almanac, how to safely navigate the cave, and the rewards you’ll receive for completing the quest.
As the quest progresses, Milten will explain that he lost the Almanac when he was attacked by a group of Black Goblins, and he’ll suggest that you can find them by heading east toward the Swamp Camp until you see a bridge over the canyon.
Where to Find the Black Goblin Cave
Return to Talas, and he will escort you to the bridge. Once you reach the bridge, cross it and head left to run into several Black Goblins. The cave entrance is just past those enemies.
Once inside the Goblin Cave, follow the main tunnel deeper into the cavern. The path is mostly linear at first, though you’ll encounter a few goblins along the way.
Continue forward and stick to the right side until you arrive at a larger chamber where the tunnel splits into two separate paths. Take the left tunnel.
Keep moving forward to reach another chamber with a broken wagon wheel lying on the ground. From the wagon wheel chamber, turn right and continue descending deeper into the cave.
Drop down a series of rocky ledges to reach the lower levels. Eventually, you’ll enter a larger chamber illuminated by a bonfire. As soon as you step into this room, look to your left.
You’ll spot a wooden gate blocking a small side room. Open the gate and head inside to discover a hidden treasure chamber.
At the back of the room, you’ll find a chest containing the Almanac.
