Force Feed Esme vs Don’t Force Feed | Withering Away | The Blood of Dawnwalker

The Withering Away quest in The Blood of Dawnwalker gives you an important choice involving Esme. You can either force-feed Esme or leave her alone and not force-feed her. This guide explains both choices and what happens after each one, so you can decide which outcome you want.

The choice to force-feed Esme is one of the first difficult decisions in The Blood of Dawnwalker. Coen’s mother Esme, refuses to eat, while his father Pieter, wants to keep her strong. You can choose either “Alright. Let’s try” or “I won’t feed her against her will.”

If you choose “Alright. Let’s try,” Coen picks up the spoon and tries to feed Esme by force. She knocks the spoon away and starts crying.

If you choose “I won’t feed her against her will,” Pieter tries to feed her instead, but Esme still knocks the spoon from his hand. The result is the same. The only way to improve Coen’s mother’s condition is to correctly brew the medicine from Anca.
