In Smoke and Ashes in The Blood of Dawnwalker, you need to find items that are important to the dead man. This guide will show you where to find each item and help you complete the Find Items of Importance to the Dead Man objective.
As the quest progresses, you will unlock the Cast Compel Soul ability. Use this ability on the Brencis Soldier to inspect his soul. However, Coen will not learn anything useful from the body at this point, so you will need to find an important item connected to the soldier to continue.
At this point, Anca explains that the corpse needs a catalyst, which is an item that has a connection to the dead soldier.
Anca asks you to search the nearby area for something significant to the soldier. Look around for clues, and a short distance away, you will find a stack of bodies near the Brencis’s Banner. Pick up the banner and take it back to the soldier’s corpse.
Once you return to the corpse, interact with the Brencis Soldier and select “Use Catalyst – Brencis’s Banner.” Using the banner as the catalyst will allow Coen to focus on the soldier and continue the investigation.
