The A Friend Like This quest begins in Svartrau, where a rogue Vrakhir presence has been spotted. Coen must investigate the disturbance to uncover what is happening and prevent further trouble for Brencis. In this walkthrough, we’ll guide you through the A Friend Like This quest step by step, including where to go and what to do to complete the investigation.
Starting Location
Head to the alley on the northeast edge of Svartrau City, just below the city walls. Once there, activate Focus Mode and inspect the yellow-outlined objects you find to start the quest.
See where the damage leads using Focus Mode
After investigating the alley and the damaged section of the wall. You’ll find a roof tile lying on the ground. Investigate it to conclude that someone might have knocked it down from above.
Use Vrakhiri skills to investigate the roof
Wait until nighttime, then use Focus Mode to spot the broken roof tiles on the nearby building. You’ll notice that the tiles are shattered not just on one roof, but on the roofs of several nearby buildings as well.
Use Vrakhiri skills to follow the rooftop tracks
Use Focus Mode to spot the broken roof tiles on the other nearby buildings as well. Look for the trail of damaged tiles and follow it southwest, checking the rooftops as you go. Keep following the trail until you reach the next area of the investigation.
Keep following the tracks across the rooftops. After a while, the trail will lead you down toward a lower area. Look for claw marks on the wall. These marks show where the creature went down.
Investigate the tracks on ground level
Drop from the rooftop to the ground level near the claw marks. Continue following the tracks to move forward with the investigation.
Get inside the building
Follow the blood trail up the stairs and enter the doorway on the left to continue following the trail.
Defend yourself
Inside the building, the Vrakhir will attack you. Defeat her to continue.
