Looking for all the collectibles and Hard Cases in Act 4, Chapter 1, Hope and Ruin, in Gears of War: E-Day? This chapter has several collectibles and hidden Hard Cases that can be easy to miss while progressing through the story. In this guide, we’ll show you the locations of every collectible and Hard Case in the chapter.
1/13: COG Tags of Sergeant Major Hank Rustin
It is part of the main story and is automatically obtained when you start Act 4.
2/13: Message from the Coalition
Available at the start of the chapter. Go down the stairs to find the note below the flag.
3/13: COG Tags of Sergeant Betsy Barnes
It is found on a dead body near the destroyed vehicle in front of the Memorial.
Hard Case 1/11
It can be found in the ruins of the cathedral.
Hard Case 2/11
In the Burial ground area.
Hard Case 3/11
It is near a locked gate inside the Cafe & Bakery.
4/13: Regalia Hotel VIP Guest List and Hard Case 4-5/11
Regalia Hotel VIP Guest List is at the reception desk of the Regalia Hotel.
Hard Case 4 is on the second floor of the Regalia Hotel.
Hard Case 5 is on the first floor of the Regalia Hotel. As you enter the hotel, look to your left to find it.
5/13: Dispute Magazine
It is located next to the vehicle under the underpass.
Hard Case 6-7/11
Hard Case 6 is south of the Kalonia Hotel, in the open area near a broken building.
From the previous collectible, look to the right for a restaurant with red walls. Head inside and turn right to find the Hard Case #7 in a back room.
6/13: Anniversary Card and Tickets to Khindago, Hard Case 8/11
Leave the restaurant and enter the partially destroyed apartment building to the south. The collectible is on a cabinet inside.
Leave the building through the hole below the stairs. The Hard Case is directly in front of you.
7/13: Statuette of Roman Kalona
It is inside the gift shop.
8/13: A Handwritten Letter in Vasgari
Head to the very bottom of the map and go behind the giant statue. The collectible is on the floor near the outer boundary.
9/13: COG Tags of Specialist Harrison Alexieff
Find the collectible on the floor near a dead body, beneath a tree.
Hard Case 9/11
Head to the bottom-left area of Kalona Square and enter the ruins of the building. Go to the back-left corner to find the Hard Case.
10/13: COG Tags of Specialist Dale Maddoc
The collectible can be found in the courtyard to the left of Kalona Square, near a dead soldier
Hard Case 10/11
The collectible can be found in the northern part of Kalona Square, near a police car.
11/13: Blood Splattered Ulk Plushie
From northern Kalona Square, go through the gate and up the road. Turn right near the police car and enter the alley to find the collectible behind a car.
Hard Case 11/11
From Kalona Square, go through the gate and head north. Once you reach the plaza, look for the pizzeria on your left. Go behind it and check the back-left corner, just before the roadblock, to find the Hard Case.
12/13: Lighter Darker Opera Program
Head inside the Opera House and climb two sets of stairs to the next floor. On the right, go through the hole in the wall to reach the balcony. The collectible is on the balcony floor.
13/13: COG Tags of Specialist Mei Aoi
Go to the left side of the Opera House and follow the path to the dead end. Find the collectible behind the crashed ambulance near the sinkhole.
