In Valor Mortis: The Emissary (Side Quest), you’ll need to traverse a dangerous, poison-filled area to progress through the quest. This guide will show you how to navigate through the toxic zone safely and reach the end of the quest The Emissary in Valor Mortis
Starting Location
To start The Emissary side quest in Valor Mortis, head to the Lantern in The Other Side area of the Valley of Ashes. From the Lantern, turn left to reach the poisonous area. Walk straight through the poison fog until you reach a carriage.
Enter the carriage and look to your left to find a seal on the table. Examine the Emissary’s Seal to start the side quest.
Step 1: Defeat the Slaughtermill Boss in Chapter 5
Progress through the main story until you reach the Slaughtermill boss in Chapter 5 and defeat him. Once the fight is over, enter the tunnel behind the platform and explore the area on your right.
Look for the note titled Emissary’s Letter lying on the ground. Examine the letter.
Step 2: Go through the poisonous Area
Lantern: Valley of Ashes > The Other Side
After defeating the boss, you can now safely traverse the poisonous area. From the Lantern, follow the path downhill into the poisonous zone.
Walk through the poison fog, pass the cart, and pick up the note lying on the ground. Then, head to the middle of the road and interact with the corpse.
Step #3: Reach the locked path
Lantern: Fortress > The Other Side
Continue along the path until you reach an area filled with corpses. Look for the corpse resting on the block path and interact with it to clear the way forward.
Keep moving deeper into the area until you reach a blocked gate, then look for the red cloth nearby and interact with it to complete The Emissary side quest and receive a Sands of Time consumable as a reward.
