Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake – How To Get A Free Hylian Shield
There are two ways to get the Hylian Shield in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. You can either buy it from the shop or find it for free in the Kakariko Village Graveyard. This guide covers both methods.
Method 1: Buy the Hylian Shield
You can purchase the Hylian Shield from the shop in Hyrule Castle Town for 80 Rupees.
Method 2: Get the Hylian Shield for Free
Step 1: Visit the Kakariko Village Graveyard
Head to Kakariko Village and follow the main path towards the graveyard. Make sure you visit at night. During the day, a child patrols the graveyard and will stop you from pulling the gravestones.
Once inside, make your way to the back of the graveyard, near the large grave area by the hill. Look for a row of five gravestones.
Step 2: Find the Hidden Entrance
Look for the second gravestone from the top of the row. Stand behind it and pull it backwards to reveal a hidden hole in the ground. Drop down through the hole to enter an underground room.
Step 3: Get Past the ReDead
Inside the room, you will encounter a Boss named ReDead. You have two ways to deal with it:
- Use the Sun’s Song: Play the Sun’s Song to freeze the ReDead, giving you a chance to attack.
- Run past it: You can also avoid fighting the enemy. Move around it carefully, reach the treasure chest, and open it before the ReDead can grab you.
Step 4: Open the Chest to Get the Hylian Shield
Once you get past the ReDead, open the treasure chest in the room to collect the Hylian Shield.
