If you’re planning to join the New Camp in Gothic 1 Remake, one of the quests you’ll receive from Lares is A Piece of the Pie. In this guide, we’ll show you how to start the quest and obtain the 400 Ore Nuggets that Lares demands to prove your loyalty and earn his support.
Starting Location
Speak with Lares and tell him that you’re interested in joining the New Camp. During the conversation, he’ll offer you the A Piece of the Pie quest as a way to prove your worth. To complete it, Lares will ask you to bring him 400 Ore Nuggets.

To complete this quest without spending any of your own Ore Nuggets, you’ll first need to gain access to the tavern. The easiest way to do this is by obtaining a Digger Outfit.
Tricking the Herb Dealer
Once inside the tavern, head to the right side of the room and speak with Baal Isidro, the herb dealer.
During the conversation, tell him that you’re interested in helping him sell his stuff. Gain his trust by making him believe that you’ll handle the sale and split the profits with him afterward.
Selling the Shipment
After obtaining the shipment from Baal Isidro, look for Cipher inside the tavern. Speak with him and sell the entire shipment right away. In return, Cipher will give you 400 Ore Nuggets, which is exactly the amount Lares requested for the A Piece of the Pie quest.
Returning to Lares
With all 400 Ore Nuggets in your possession, make your way back to Lares in the New Camp. Speak with him and hand over the ore to complete A Piece of the Pie.
