This article will guide the player on how to complete the quest “A Surprising Investigation” in WOW: The War Within.
Starting Location
Speak with Alyx at the main tent of the Caverns of Time to start the quest – Festive Reflections. She is wearing a white dress and is the Volunteer Assistant Guest Relations Manager.
This quest points the player to a Detective NPC named Jones. The player can find him near the caravan in the western part of the Caverns of Time. Talk to Detective Jones, and he will ask you to locate the imposters within the celebration area.
#1 Imposters
The first imposter is NPC Lorewalker Cho, who is standing by the ice rink. He is in the wrong location. Simply speak with him and select dialogue “You’re in the wrong timeline. Go find Chromie.“

The next imposter is NPC Jepetto Joyz near the Story Time Stage.
#3 Imposters
The next imposter is NPC Reshad on Fashion Frenzy.
#4 Imposters
The next imposter is NPC Big Kinook near the wooden stairs below the Fashion Frenzy Stage.
#5 Imposters
The next imposter is NPC Maru near the Pet area.
Go back to NPC Detective Jones and inform him that you’ve found all the impostors. He will then ask you to deliver letters to 10 different people.

Return to Detective Jones, and tell him that you’ve distributed the letters. Now Detective Jones will ask you to obtain the Lucky Feast.
Head to the north of the Caverns of Time to the location marked on the map. Speak with Bone Noos and tell him you want your food order. This should allow you to obtain the Lucky Feast.
Afterward, head north to a beach area marked on the map and speak with Athon Jones.
Next, speak with Alyx to end the quest. This will finish Chapter 4 and unlock the “I Saved the Party” achievement.
