The Vaultkeeper’s Request quest in Hollow Knight: Silksong sends you on a hunt for six Psalm Cylinders. In this guide, we’ll show you the exact locations of all 6 Psalm Cylinders for the Vaultkeeper in Hollow Knight Silksong.
Psalm Cylinder 1 – Sacred Cylinder
It is part of the Vaultkeeper’s Melody Main Quest. The first Psalm Cylinder is located at the bottom of the Whispering Vaults area. From the Bench, keep heading left, and you’ll come across the Psalm Cylinder. Interact with it to pick it up.
Psalm Cylinder 2 (Whispering Vaults)
The second Psalm Cylinder can be found on the eastern side of the Whispering Vaults, right next to the Bench where Vaultkeeper Cardinius is located. From the Bench, head right until you reach the end, then climb up the platforms to obtain the Psalm Cylinder.
Psalm Cylinder 3 (Whispering Vaults – Secret Area)
The third Psalm Cylinder is located inside the secret area between Songclave and Whispering Vaults. To reach the Psalm Cylinder, start at the location shown on the map in the Whispering Vaults and head right until you get a platform to climb up.
Now, climb up the platform and jump onto the wall to cling to it. From there, jump upward through the narrow opening between the wall and the ceiling. There is a secret path leading to the next area. Enter it by heading right.
In the next area, follow the path until the end, then climb up and continue heading right. Keep moving forward until you find a ring on the ceiling. Cling to the ring to unlock the path on the floor, then drop down and progress through it.
Next, navigate through the section filled with spiked spinning gears.
Next, you need to use your Drifter’s Cloak ability to pass through the spiky wall area.
After gliding down into the large area, use your Cling Grip to attach to the wall on the left. From there, jump upward and continue moving left and following the path upward.
Pass through a few more sets of spiked gears and follow the path until you find a lever on the left. Strike the lever to activate it, then continue heading left.
Drop down again and pass through the spiky wall and spinning gears until you reach the wheel at the bottom.
Stand on the pressure plate beside the wheel and then hit the wheel multiple times to open an air vent that will take you to the top.
Once you reach the top, you’ll see another lever attached to the ceiling. Strike it to unlock the path and gain access to the next area.
Now, head left and take the first available upward path. At the top, strike the lever to unlock the way forward.
Now, head left and jump across platforms to reach the third Psalm Cylinder.
Psalm Cylinder 4 (High Halls)
The fourth Psalm Cylinder is located in the High Halls. Start by heading to the marked location on the map, then drift downward through the area, carefully passing between the spiked walls.
After crossing the second platform, cling to the wall on the left and move inside.
From there, drop down and continue heading left until you reach the second waterfall.
Keep going to the left until you get to a second waterfall. Climb up onto the platform right above it and walk to the right all the way to the end.
Finally, jump up to the platform on the top right. Then drop down in the cage below to obtain the fourth Psalm Cylinder.
Psalm Cylinder 5 (After defeating the Unravelled in Whiteward)
The fifth Psalm Cylinder can be found inside Whiteward. To access it, you’ll need the Surgeon’s Key, which unlocks the path leading to the Unravelled boss. Read the article linked above to get Surgeon’s Key and reach the boss.
After getting the Surgeon’s Key, make your way to the bottom floor of Whiteward and continue heading west. At the far end, you’ll come across an Ornate Lock.
This is where the key is used to open the path ahead. This path will take you to the Unravelled boss
After defeating the boss, head right and drop down to reach the Underworks entrance.
As soon as you land, turn left and hit the wall multiple times to break it open.
Continue through this newly opened area, and you’ll find the fifth Psalm Cylinder at the end.
Psalm Cylinder 6 (Blasted Steps)
The final Psalm Cylinder can be purchased from Grindle for 180 coins in the Blasted Steps.
Give the Psalm Cylinders to the Vaultkeeper
Once you’ve collected all six Psalm Cylinders, hand over the Cylinders to Vaultkeeper Cardinius to complete the Vaultkeeper’s Quest in Hollow Knight: Silksong.
