This guide shows the location of all Ancient Magic Hotspots in Hogwarts Legacy. There are 20 Ancient Magic Hotspot locations and are available after completing Main Quest #23: Percival Rackham’s Trial.
Forbidden Forest
1) Ancient Magic Hotspots
Number of Ancient Magic Runes to collect in the area: 3
The first is hidden behind a spider web, the second is beneath the wooden debris you must crawl to, and the third is on ledges that you can climb to get the chest.
2) Ancient Magic Hotspots
Number of Ancient Magic Runes to collect in the area: 3
Teleport through three frogs marked in the map below to find the hotspots.
Hogsmeade Valley
3) Ancient Magic Hotspots
Number of Ancient Magic Runes to collect in the area: 3
Climb the ladder on the right after triggering the ancient magic hotspot. Follow the balcony around the corner, use the fire to clear the wines, and go inside. There are two hotspots on the left and right sides of the pulley system. Drop the platform of rocks and hop down through the hole into the bottom level for the third hotspot.
North Hogwarts Region
4) Ancient Magic Hotspots
Number of Ancient Magic Runes to collect in the area: 3
Enter the castle and take the first rune from the tomb. To uncover the next two runes, destroy the wooden boards on the floor behind the tomb. The second piece is hidden behind a wall, and the third piece uses Accio on the hooks to open the door.
Hogwarts Valley
5) Ancient Magic Hotspots
Number of Ancient Magic Runes to collect in the area: 3
Use the broom to fly or nearby to climb up the wall to the right (west) and collect the first rune. Climb up the wall on the left (east) to get the second rune. For the third one follow the balcony up to the upper level, use fire to clear the vines, and head inside to get the last rune.
6) Ancient Magic Hotspots
Number of Ancient Magic Runes to collect in the area: 3
Use the broom to fly to the first rune floating on top of a pillar. The second rune is located southwest of the ruins and the last one is in the northwest direction.
7) Ancient Magic Hotspots
Number of Ancient Magic Runes: 3
Enter the room on the right to find the first rune behind the barrels. For the 2nd pull the handle out from the wall and climb up the 2nd floor. For the third rune, use the ladder near the previous rune then move the barrel to enter another room on the third floor.
8) Ancient Magic Hotspots
Number of Ancient Magic Runes: 3
Use incendio to clear the vines and enter the building, The first rune is behind the barrel and box. Fly up to the higher floor to get the other two runes.
9) Ancient Magic Hotspots
The number of Ancient Magic Runes: 3
Head right after activating the Ancient magic. kill all the spiders to collect two runes from the road and one inside the building where to get the 2nd runes.
10) Ancient Magic Hotspots
The number of Ancient Magic Runes: 3
One rune is in the north direction from the ancient magic location
The other two are inside the building in the southwest direction. Rotate the mechanism to open the door on the first floor to get 2nd rune. The third rune is on the top floor of the same building.
Feldcroft Region
11) Ancient Magic Hotspots
The number of Ancient Magic Runes: 3
After activating the ancient magic, go downstairs to find the first rune. Rune #2-3 is further east inside ruined building.
12) Ancient Magic Hotspots
The number of Ancient Magic Runes: 3
The rune is on a wooden platform near ancient magic. Climb up the roof to find the next two runes.
13) Ancient Magic Hotspots
The number of Ancient Magic Runes: 3
After activating the ancient magic hotspot head under the arch of the building find the first rune. Head north from the previous location to locate the 2nd rune.
The third rune is in a fire camp in the east direction.
14) Ancient Magic Hotspots
The number of Ancient Magic Runes: 3
After activating the ancient magic hotspot head under the arch of the building and then climb up the stairs to get the first rune.
The next two runes is in the building in the north direction from the earlier rune.
Poidsear Coast
15) Ancient Magic Hotspots
The number of Ancient Magic Runes: 3
Open the level I lock to enter the building. The first rune behind the breakable wall. Go upstairs to find the rest of the runes.
16) Ancient Magic Hotspots
The number of Ancient Magic Runes: 3
The first rune is on the left after the bridge and the next two runes are inside the building.
Marunweem Lake
17) Ancient Magic Hotspot
The number of Ancient Magic Runes: 3
After activating the ancient magic hotspot climb the wooden platform in the north direction for the first rune.
Next two runes you can use a broom to reach. One is floating on top of a boat in the lake.
The last rune is at the top of the building.
18) Ancient Magic Hotspot
The number of Ancient Magic Runes: 3
Rotate the mechanism to open the gate.
Manor Cape
19) Ancient Magic Hotspot
The number of Ancient Magic Runes: 3
Use the broom to fly to the these platform to collect the rune.
Open the Level II lock and teleport by using the frog to get the last rune.
Cragcroftshire
20) Ancient Magic Hotspot
The number of Ancient Magic Runes: 3
The first rune is on the stairs, the Second rune is on top of the tower. The third one is on the west wall as shown in the image.
