Hogwarts Legacy: All 4 Library Annex Puzzle Doors
This guide shows how to open the 4 locked puzzle doors in the Library Annex in the Hogwarts Legacy game, which released on 10th February 2023. You will find a Collection Chest behind this door.
1) Central Hall Puzzle Door
The puzzle door is near the Potions Classroom as shown in the picture below. From the Central Hall Floo Flame location, go down the stairs. Then turn left and go down another set of stairs to reach this door. The door will have creature symbols around it. Each creature around the door represents numbers 0 to 9 as shown in the second picture below.
Getting close to the door will reveal a riddle, which is basically two very simple mathematics equations. In these equations, one variable is represented with a question mark (?), and the other variable is represented with two question marks (??) as shown in the picture below. The number at the center of the triangle is the sum of the numbers on the three corners of the triangle. Solve the equation to get the variables (? & ??).
Top Equation
11 + Magical Creature (2) + ? = 21
? = 8
Bottom Equation
Magical Creature (5) + Magical Creature (9) + ?? = 17
?? = 3
On the left side of the door, you will find a tablet with ‘?’ on it. Interact with the tablet and change the symbol to the magical creature corresponding to the number 8 as shown in the picture below.
From the door, turn around and climb two flights of stairs to reach the tablet with ‘??’ on it. Interact with the tablet and change the symbol to the magical creature corresponding to the number 3 as shown in the picture below. This will unlock the door. Go inside to open the chest and get clothing items.
2) Library Annex Top Floor Puzzle Door 1/3
There are three puzzle doors on the Library Annex’s top floor. The solution to the puzzle door is shown below.
Top Equation

On the left side of the door, you will find a tablet with ‘?’ on it. Interact with the tablet and change the symbol to the magical creature corresponding to the number 4 as shown in the picture below.
On the right side of the door, you will find a tablet with ‘??’ on it. Interact with the tablet and change the symbol to the magical creature corresponding to the number 3 as shown in the picture below.
3) Library Annex Top Floor Puzzle Door 2/3
Go through the previous door to reach a hall with two puzzle doors. The solution to the first puzzle door is shown below.

On the left side of the door, you will find a tablet with ‘?’ on it. Interact with the tablet and change the symbol to the magical creature corresponding to the number 4 as shown in the picture below.
On the right side of the door, you will find a tablet with ‘??’ on it. Interact with the tablet and change the symbol to the magical creature corresponding to the number 5 as shown in the picture below.
4) Library Annex Top Floor Puzzle Door 3/3
The solution to the second puzzle door in the hall is shown below.
