This guide shows how to solve all Merlin Trial puzzles in the Lower Hogsfield area of the Hogwarts Legacy game, which released on 10th February 2023. Solving Merlin Trials increases your gear capacity.

1) Solve Merlin’s Trial Quest
The first Merlin Trial is part of the Trials of Merlin story quest. Use Mallowsweet on the swirl symbol on the ground at the location shown in the picture below to start the Merlin Trial. Then use the Incendio spell to light torches on top of three pillars around the swirl symbol as shown in the second picture below. Then trial completes as you light up the three torches.
2) Merlin Trial 2 (Small Balls)
The location of the Merlin Trial is shown in the picture below. Go to the marked location and use Mallowsweet on the swirl symbol on the ground to start the trial.
Go a little west from the trial location. Then use the Accio spell on the stones and guide them to the holes as shown in the picture below.
Go a little east from the trial location. Then use the Accio spell on the stones and guide them to the holes as shown in the picture below.
Go a little south of the trial location. Then use the Accio spell on the stones and guide them to the holes as shown in the picture below. This will complete the trial.
3) Merlin Trial 3 (Destroying Small Balls)
The location of the Merlin Trial is shown in the picture below. Go to the marked location and use Mallowsweet on the swirl symbol on the ground to start the trial.
To complete the trail, you need to destroy nine small balls on top of pillars. Two balls are on the west side of the Merlin Trial as shown in the picture below. Three balls are on the east side of the Merlin Trial as shown in the second picture below. One of the balls is behind the rock (Marked as ‘5’ in the picture below). Three are on the south side as shown in the third picture below. One ball is on the north side as shown in the fourth picture below. Destroying all nine balls completes the trial.
4) Giant Stone Ball Merlin Trial
Use Mallowsweet on the swirl symbol on the ground at the location shown in the picture below to start the Merlin Trial. As the trial starts, the giant stone ball in front of the swirl symbol will become active.
To solve the puzzle, you need to move the ball into the giant hole in the ground near the river as shown in the second picture below. First, use Leviosa spell to lift the giant stone ball in the air as shown in the picture below. Then move towards the hole and use the Accio spell to summon the giant stone towards you. Now guide the giant stone into the hole while using Accio. The trial completes when the giant stone ball drops into the hole.
5) Goblin Camp Merlin Trial
Use Mallowsweet on the swirl symbol on the ground at the location shown in the picture below to start the Goblin Camp Merlin Trial.
After the trial starts, open the door near the campfire and proceed inside. Use Accio spell on the stones there as shown in the picture below. Then guide them to the holes near the campfire as shown in the second picture below.
Now climb up the stairs on the west side. Use the Accio spell on the stones and guide them to the holes as shown in the picture below.
Go to the south side of the camp and burn the vines as shown in the picture below. This will reveal the stones hidden behind them. Now use the Accio spell on the stones and guide them to the holes next to the southern wall of the camp as shown in the second picture below. This will complete the trial.
