The Axe and Dagger is one of the first weapons you can obtain in Mortal Shell 2, but finding it is not as straightforward as it may seem. The weapon is hidden inside the Chapel in Mushroom Village, and you will need the Chapel Key before you can reach it. In this guide, we’ll show you exactly where to find the Chapel Key, how to reach the Chapel, and how to get the Axe and Dagger in Mortal Shell 2.
How to get the Chapel Key
To get the Axe and Dagger, you need the Chapel Key to open the locked Chapel in Mushroom Village. From the Mushroom Village Beacon, head rightwards until you can see a bridge and cross it.
You will find an archway near the pyre, just after crossing the bridge. Step around to the other side of it and pass through the archway. You’ll see a large statue that wasn’t there previously.
Go near the statue to find a rope hanging from it. Interact with it to get the Chapel Key.
How to get Axe & Dagger Weapon
With the Chapel Key in your possession, head left from the Mushroom Village Beacon to reach the Chapel. Use the key to unlock the Chapel Door and enter inside.
Inside, defeat the cultists and continue through the Chapel until you reach a room with a statue in the centre. Examine the statue to reveal a message: “Gaze upon your king so true, back and back you shall pass through.”
To progress, face the statue and simply walk backwards. This will cause you to pass through the hidden wall and reveal the secret passage. Continue through the area and defeat the enemies inside.
In the next room, you will encounter a pressure plate puzzle. There is a pressure plate on the floor and a pillar that you need to move on these plates. You can move the pillar by attacking it with your weapon. The pillar can only move in specific directions, which are indicated by the markings on the floor.
Push the pillar onto the pressure plate. Once the plate is activated, the passage will open, allowing you to move into the next room.
The next room contains two movable pillars and two pressure plates. First, move the left-side pillar to the far right side of the room, so that it stands in a straight line with the right-side pillar. Now, hit the right-side pillar to move it onto the pressure plate.
Now, move the left-side pillar, which is in the far-left corner, back onto the pressure plate on the left side of the room. Once both pressure plates are activated, the next passage will open.
Head through the newly opened passage and prepare for a fight against an armoured knight. Defeat the knight to clear the area.
Now, interact with the statue in the room to loot the Axe and Dagger.
