Black Myth Wukong: All Secret Area Locations & How to Unlock them
Black Myth: Wukong is a captivating action RPG inspired by Journey to the West. Players control Sun Wukong, the Monkey King, on an epic quest filled with mythical creatures and intense combat. With stunning visuals and a rich narrative, the game offers a unique and unforgettable gaming experience. The game consists of 6 Chapters. Some of the chapters consist of secret areas. This article lists the secret areas in the game and how to unlock them.

Chapter 1 Secret Area: Ancient Guanyin Temple
To unlock the hidden/secret area in Chapter 1 of Black Myth: Wukong, players have to ring three giant bells in the chapter. Click here to see the location of the three bells and how to unlock the secret area. On ringing the three bells, you will get transported to the Ancient Guanyin Temple. Climb up the stairs to enter the temple. Then open the door ahead to reach the secret boss, Elder Jinchi. Defeat him and then collect the Fireproof Mantle vessel from the corpse hanging in the tree.
Chapter 2 Secret Area: Kingdom of Sahali
To unlock the secret area, Kingdom of Sahali, in Chapter 2, you will need to complete the Drunken Boar questline. Soon after entering the Kingdom of Sahali, you will encounter the secret boss Tiger Vanguard. Defeat him to get Tiger Tally. Afterward, you’ll enter a vast desert. Climb the cliff where an NPC awaits. Speaking to him triggers a cutscene, leading to the summoning of the Fuban boss. Defeat Fuban to get the Wind Tamer vessel and Fuban’s Insect Armor recipe. This also unlocks the Shifting Sands trophy.
Chapter 3 Secret Area: Mount Mei
You cannot reach the Secret Area in Chapter 3, until very late in the game. You can access Chapter 3 Secret Area, Mount Mei from the Pagoda Realm: Great Pagoda. However, there are some prerequisites to doing so. Fulfill the below-mentioned criteria to access the secret area.
- Complete the Treasure Hunter quest in Chapter 3
- Defeat the bosses in Chapter 1 Secret Area
- Defeat the bosses in Chapter 2 Secret Area
- Defeat the bosses in Chapter 4 Secret Area
- Defeat the bosses in Chapter 5 Secret Area
Once you have completed the above-mentioned things, visit The Great Pagoda and you will find the Buddha Boy there. He will transport you to the Secret Area, Mount Mei. In the secret area, you will have to fight the bosses Erlang and The Four Heavenly Kings. On defeating them, you will get the Tri-Point Double-Edged Spear and Azure Dome spell (Rock Monkey Transformation). This will complete the secret area. Now when you complete the game, you will get the True Secret Ending.
Chapter 3 Secret Realm: Zodiac Village
You need to complete Chen Loong’s quest to unlock the secret realm of Zodiac Village. You will find a Blacksmith at the village entrance where you will be able to upgrade your Armour. You can deliver Seeds and Worms to Chen Loong and then later harvest the ingredients.
Chapter 4 Secret Area: Purple Cloud Mountain
To unlock the secret area, you will need to defeat the “Venom Daoist” boss at two separate locations. Click here to see how to unlock the secret area.
After entering the secret area, continue straight ahead until you reach a wooden bridge. Just before the bridge, you will see a snake on the tree. Talk to the snake and exhaust all the dialogues. Cross the wooden bridge and continue ahead until you reach the next wooden bridge. Just before the bridge, you will find the Purple Cloud Mountain: Valley of Blooms shrine. Now cross the bridge and go right. Proceed ahead and cross the archway to reach the Purple Cloud Mountain: Bounds of Deity’s Abode shrine. Then climb up the stairs ahead to find the Scorpionlord boss on top of a house. Destroy the barrels in front of the house to initiate the battle. Continue in the secret area and at the end, after Purple Cloud Mountain: Cloudnest Peak shrine, you will encounter The Duskveil boss. Defeat him to complete the secret area. On defeating him, you will get Weaver’s Needle Vessel.
Chapter 5 Secret Area: Bishui Cave
To unlock the secret area, you need to complete the 5 Elemental Carts quest. In Bisui Cave, first, you will face double boss Top Takes Bottom & Bottom Takes Top. Then you will have to defeat the Bishui Golden-Eyed Beast boss. On defeating him you will get Daoist’s Basket of Fire and Water (Curio).

No Secret Area
