Black Myth Wukong: How to Absorb Spirits

This guide shows how to absorb spirits in Black Myth: Wukong, released on 20 August 2024. After defeating some of the bosses and enemies, a bluish flame appears as shown in the picture below. When you try to collect it, you will get a notification saying “Cannot absorb spirits without guidance“. That is because your Gourd is not blessed. This article will explain how to get Blessed Gourd and how to absorb spirits.

Blessed Gourd Location (Cannot absorb spirits without guidance)

Progress through Chapter 1 until you reach the Bamboo Grove: Snake Trail shrine as shown in the picture below. Climb up the stairs next to the shrine. Then turn right and talk to the NPC there as shown in the second picture below. He will talk to you and then bless your Gourd. Now that you have the Blessed Gourd, you can go to any spirit and absorb it. You can go to any shrine and use the Retrieve Spirits tab as shown in the third picture below to absorb all the spirits that you did not pick up before. By absorbing the spirit, you will get the enemy’s ability. You can go to any shrine and use the Self-Advance tab to upgrade the spirits.
