Ready to claim the Royal Scepter in Blue Prince? This powerful item isn’t easy to get, but with the right steps, it’s yours for the taking. In this guide, I’ll walk you through exactly how to find and unlock the Royal Scepter in Blue Prince.
Step 1: Solve the Chessboard Puzzle to get Rook Power
First, find all the chess pieces hidden around the manor. After you’ve collected them all in the same run, head over to the chessboard puzzle area in the underground section and place each piece on the correct square.

Once you’ve put all six pieces in the right spots, the puzzle will be complete. After that, go ahead and choose the Rook Power to continue.
Step 2: Solve the Chessboard Puzzle to get Rook Power
Next, in your new run, go back and solve the chessboard puzzle again, just like before. But this time, choose the King Power after solving it.
This will open a secret passage in the chess room (Don’t go inside this passage now). Note: Don’t pick any other power between choosing the Rook and the King—you need to use them one after the other for it to work!
Step 3: Draft Observatory to get “Southern Cross” Buff
Now, draft the Observatory room, and once you’re inside, use the giant telescope. Looking through it to activate the “Southern Cross” buff.

In the same run where you activated the “Southern Cross” buff, go back to the chess room and enter the secret passage you opened earlier. Once you’re inside, wait until 1:30 PM in-game—that’s when the clock puzzle will begin.
Step 5: Retrieve the Key of Aries
Wait until it’s 1:30 p.m. in-game, for a large clock mechanism will emerge.
- To solve the clock puzzle, first turn the minute hand until the clock shows 0109.
- Then, turn it forward (clockwise) until you reach 0115.
- Next, turn it backward (anticlockwise) until the clock shows 1226.
Completing this sequence grants you the Key of Aries.
Step 6: Activate the Blessing of the Monk
While you’re playing in the same run, draft the Shrine as an outer room and donate 13 coins there. This will give you the Blessing of the Monk.
Step 7: Spend the night at Treasure Trove
Once you have this Blessing of the Monk, draft the Treasure Trove as an outer room. You’ll be able to end your day and spend the night at the Treasure Trove.
Step 8: Unlock the Royal Scepter from the Chest
The next day, get the Key of Aries from the hidden passage and draft the Treasure Trove. Inside, you’ll be able to unlock the chest inside the trove to get the Royal Scepter.
