The Brain in a Vat is one of the strangest and most mysterious encounters in the Lies of P: Overture DLC, where you’ll also meet a friendly puppet known as the Crusher Puppet. As you follow this unusual questline, you’ll eventually face a choice—either help the brain or refuse its request. In this guide, we’ll walk you through both options, explain the outcomes of each decision.
In your final encounter with the Crusher Puppet, he will ask for your help to end his suffering. To do so, you’ll need to find his true body hidden deep within Pistris Harbour.
In Pistris Harbour, you’ll eventually enter a chamber filled with strange machinery and a large brain in a vat. Speak to the brain to uncover the truth that the brain is Alexander, the real identity behind the Crusher Puppet. Once you tell Alexander the truth, he’ll ask you to shut down the machine and help him choose his fate.
Help him (Brain in a vat)
If you decide to help Alexander, he will peacefully die. As a reward, you’ll receive the Nightmare Record.

Refuse Help (Brain in a vat)
If you choose to refuse Alexander’s request, you won’t receive any reward for doing so. Alexander will remain alive inside the vat, but will eventually die.

Note: Neither of these decisions don’t affects the main story or DLC outcome
