During the Echoes of Silenced Bells quest in The Blood of Dawnwalker, you’ll eventually have to decide what to do with the mysterious notes. You can either burn the notes or give them to Anca, and your choice affects what happens to the cursed undead nuns. This article explains both options.
Should you throw the notes in the fire or not
Give the Notes to Anca
If you choose to give the notes to Anca. She will use them to complete the ritual needed to lift the curse from the undead nuns. Once the ritual is completed, the undead nuns will disappear from St. Tyna’s Grove. This means you can return later and explore St. Tyna’s Grove without fighting the cursed nuns.
However, completing the ritual comes at a cost. Anca will spend 1 Time Segment to perform the ritual. This is the better option if you want St. Tyna’s Grove to remain safe and free of the undead nuns after completing the quest.
Burn the Notes
If you choose “Throw the notes in the fire”, the notes will be destroyed before Anca can use them. As a result, Anca cannot complete the ritual, meaning the curse remains active. The undead nuns will continue to haunt St. Tyna’s Grove even after you finish the quest. You won’t spend the Time Segment required for Anca’s ritual, but you’ll have to deal with the undead nuns whenever you return to the area.
