Casualty of War: The Hourglass Favor/ Side Quest

This guide shows the complete walkthrough of the Casualty of War: The Hourglass Favour/ Side Quest in God of War Ragnarok.

How to start Casualty of War: The Hourglass Favor

To start the quest, go to the location shown in the pictures below. To reach the location, take the path going south after the long zipline. On this path, you will find a mystic gateway. Go into the small tunnel behind the gateway. Use your spear to destroy the wall at the end of the path to reach the marked area.

Here you will see a dragon sitting on a pillar as shown in the second picture below. Destroy the pillar the dragon is sitting on with your spear. Then destroy the second pillar the dragon sits on. This will start The Burning Skies Favor.

After the dragon flies away, open the gate on the south side of the area by pulling the chain near it as shown in the picture below. Then jump to the other side. Now Turn right and destroy the red vines blocking the path. Then go inside through the hole in the wall to find a spirit. Talk to the spirit to start the favor.

Find the other half of the hourglass

Note: To complete the quest, you must first complete Return of the River favor, which will flood the crater with water.

Go to the dock near the gateway as shown in the picture below and hop on the boat. Row the boat back to the area where you destroyed the pillars the dragon was sitting on. Open the gate on the north side of the area by pulling the chain near it as shown in the second picture below. Then continue ahead and dock the boat on the beach as shown in the third picture below to reach the Dragon’s Lair.

Go straight ahead and open the gate. Use your spear to destroy the rocks on the right side of the hallway as shown in the picture below.

Proceed ahead in the tunnels and destroy the rocks on the right side of the hallway where the dragon is breathing fire at you. This will break the wall, which will stop the dragon to stop breathing fire in the hallway. Now you can safely pick up the second half of the hourglass lying in front of the fallen bounders as shown in the second picture below.
