This guide shows how to obtain the ‘Spell Binder’ in the ‘Treasure Hunter’ Quest during Chapter 3 of Black Myth: Wukong, released on August 20, 2024.
Find the Treasure Hunter
Location: Bitter Lake > North Shore
Note: If you’ve moved ahead in the story (Chapter 3), skip to the next step to find him at the next location.
Go the opposite way from the shrine at North Shore until you find a building with red walls. Refer image below.
Go inside and keep going until you meet three enemies. Defeat them, then talk to the NPC sitting in front of the house. This NPC is the Treasure Hunter.
Reach Towers of Karma
In Chapter 3, go to the ‘Forest of Felicity’ shrine in the ‘Valley of Ecstasy.’
Walk through the first gate in front of the shrine and follow the path until you see third gate.
Instead of going through it, turn left and go down the slope to find the ‘Towers of Karma’ shrine.
Find the Treasure Hunter Again
Head to the left of the shrine, and you’ll find the Treasure Hunter sitting on a tree. He’ll be shivering in the snow and will ask for a fire to warm up.
Cast Ring of Fire
Cast the spell “Ring of Fire” to warm him up. After that, talk to the Treasure Hunter again, and he’ll tell you to look for another shrine called “Melon Field” nearby.
Find the Melon Field
Fast travel to the Forest of Felicity shrine in the Valley of Ecstasy. Instead of going through the gate, go to the right and down the slope.
Follow the path to the bottom until you reach a pond. Go behind the big rock on the other side of the pond, then drop down the cliff.
At the bottom, you’ll find the ‘Melon Field’ shrine.
Secret Boss Green Capped Martialist
To the left of the ‘Melon Field’ shrine, there’s a large Buddha statue. Walk up to it to begin a boss fight with the Treasure Hunter called the ‘Green-Capped Martialist.
End Cutscene & Reward
After you defeat the boss, you’ll get the ‘Spell Binder’ spell as your reward.
