Black Myth Wukong: Old Man Quest in Chapter 5

This guide shows how to complete the Old Man Quest in Furnace Valley: Rakshasa palace in Chapter 5 in Black Myth: Wukong, released on 20 August 2024. On completing the quest, your will get the best Gourd in the game, Supreme Gourd.

To do this quest, first, you need to upgrade your Gourd to up to level 9. To upgrade your Gourd, you must go to Shen Monkey, whom you will find in the Bamboo Grove: Marsh of White Mist in Chapter 1. Click here to learn how to upgrade your Gourd. Also, make sure that you have got your Gourd Blessed by the old man in Chapter 1.

Once you have got your Gourd Blessed and upgraded it up to level 9, travel to Furnace Valley: Rakshasa palace shrine in Chapter 5. Climb up the stairs near the shrine and then turn right and cross the bridge as shown in the picture below. Go down the stairs after the bridge. Then proceed ahead, climb up the small flight of stairs, and go left as shown in the second picture below.

Go to the edge of the platform ahead. Then cross the lava to reach the building on the other side as shown in the pictures below. Roll on the lava to reduce the damage that you take.

Enter the building on the other side of the lava and talk to the old man there. After he has finished talking, interact with the fire as shown in the picture below. There will be a small cutscene and after that, you will get the Supreme Gourd. This will complete the quest.
