In Ashes is the 2nd main mission in Crimson Desert, where infiltrating the Black Bears’ base can be tricky if you rush in without a plan. This quest starts right after the Greymanes are ambushed and scattered by the Black Bears. In this guide, you’ll find simple steps to complete every objective, including defeating the Black Bears and helping Naira, Oongka, and Yann.
Annihilate the Black Bears
Enter the Base Carefully
As you approach the base, stick to the left-hand side of the entrance. This helps keep you out of the enemy leader’s direct line of sight and gives you a safer angle to plan your attacks.
Take out any nearby enemies quietly before engaging the main target. Clearing smaller threats first will make the fight much more manageable later.
Use the Whistling Arrow to Lure the Enemy
Switch to your whistling arrow and aim at the main enemy from a hidden position along the left side.
- Fire a shot to get his attention and stay partially hidden so he doesn’t fully spot you.
- Watch for a slight camera and color shift, which signals that he’s moving toward your position.
Defend and Counter His Attacks
Once the enemy approaches:
- Raise your shield immediately. He will perform a three-hit attack combo. Block the first two hits, then dodge on the third attack. Afterwards, he will retreat inside the camp.
Take Out the Minions
During the fight, the leader will summon or be supported by minions. These enemies can damage you even when the boss isn’t attacking.
- Prioritize clearing minions quickly and keep moving to avoid getting surrounded. Also, heal whenever your health drops too low.
Control the Fight Position
Try to keep the boss near the entryway of his base rather than deeper inside. Position yourself between the boss and the entrance. This prevents him from retreating and gives you more opportunities to attack safely. In this spot, he becomes less aggressive, allowing you to deal consistent damage.
Repeat the Strategy
If the boss retreats or resets, you may need to repeat this process a few times. Stay patient and don’t rush. Once the leader is defeated, the remaining enemies will be easier to handle. With all enemies defeated, the objective to infiltrate the Black Bears’ base will be complete.
Help Naira
After defeating all the enemies, check your minimap and head toward Naira, who is located in the top (north) circle. Go there, and you’ll find about 8 enemies attacking her. After a cutscene, defeat all the enemies to help Naira.
Help Oongka
Next, go to the right (east) circle on the map to find Oongka. After a cutscene, defeat the enemies around him.
Help Yann
Now head to the left (west) circle to find Yann. After a cutscene, defeat the remaining enemies to help him.
Boss Fight: Myurdin
After helping everyone, you will face a boss named Myurdin. No matter how the fight plays out, the quest will end after the cutscene.
