This article will guide the player step by step on how to complete all the objectives of the main quest ‘Dagon Shrine’ in the game Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion Remastered.
Enter Lake Arrius Caverns
As the mission starts, go to Lake Arrius Cavern located north of the city of Cheydinhal. Refer to the location on the map.
Inside the cavern, follow the path until you meet a Doorkeeper standing near a brazier. Talk to him, and he’ll say that Lord Dagon is expecting you, and Harrow will take you to the master.
Enter Dagon Shrine
After you finish talking, the Doorkeeper will open the door to the Dagon Shrine. Inside, you will meet Harrow, the Warden of the Shrine. Speak to Harrow, then give him all your items and put on the initiate’s robe. Follow him through the tunnel into a big, open cavern where a ceremony is happening.
Go down the stairs to where the ceremony is happening. There, you will see Mankar Camoran speaking at an altar. When he finishes his speech, he teleports himself into a place called Paradise and takes the Amulet of Kings with him. Now, your new goal is to get the Mysterium Xarxes, who is still inside the shrine.
After Mankar Camoran escapes, another Mythic Dawn member named Ruma Camoran will ask you to prove your loyalty by offering your blood.
Go to the stone table behind her. You’ll see a silver knife there. (You can choose to use it and make a sacrifice, but it’s optional.) Also, don’t forget to take the Mysterium Xarxes from the stone table next to the knife.
Once you pick up the Mysterium Xarxes, the Mythic Dawn members will attack you. Defeat all the Mythic Dawn members inside the cavern. Then, find Harrow’s body and take back your belongings from him.
Escape the Dagon Shrine
After getting all your stuff back, go up the stairs on the northwest side of the hall. Keep following the path until you reach the Living Quarters.
Inside, defeat all the enemies you find. One of them is a Storeroom Guard; make sure to take the Storeroom Key from him.
Keep moving forward until you reach the Shrine Antechamber and enter the wooden door. Once inside, look for a lever on the floor. Pull the lever to open the heavy iron door.
Follow the path through the door until you reach the Storeroom. Use the Storeroom Key to open it and collect any useful items inside, like gold, potions, weapons, or armor.
When you’re done, go back the way you came and leave the Shrine Antechamber. Keep going forward until you reach a dead end.
To open the path ahead, go back up the ramp nearby and look for a hidden lever. Turn it, and a secret passage will open.
Keep following the path, and soon you’ll find the exit of the shrine. You’re now free to continue your adventure. Finally, return to Cloud Ruler Temple and report your findings to Martin.
