Date’s Challenge is a Hidden World Quest in the Enkanomiya Area, introduced in Genshin Impact 2.4 update released on 5th January 2022. By doing this quest you will get 2 luxurious chests. This guide shows how to get the “Date’s Challenge” world quest and the complete walkthrough of the quest.
How to start “Date’s Challenge” World Quest
To start the “Date’s Challenge” world quest, go to the northeast side of Evernight Temple as shown in the picture below. If it is night (Evernight), then you will see a Labyrinth as shown in the second picture below. Inside the labyrinth, you will see 4 hydro pillars. But the pillars won’t be accessible as your path will be blocked. To reach them, you will need to solve the Labyrinth/ Maze Puzzle.
Evernight temple Labyrinth Puzzle
First, if it is night, you will need to switch to Whitenight by interacting with the switch on the west side of the Labyrinth as shown in the picture below. Then hit the two Triangular Mechanisms near the switch as shown in the picture below to activate them. This will move the Labyrinth wall to make a way for you to go inside. The final configuration of the walls is shown in the second picture below.
Now switch to Evernight by interacting with the switch. This will make the Labyrinth appear again, but this time all the 4 pillars inside the Labyrinth will be accessible. Jump down and go to all the 4 pillars inside the labyrinth and activate them by hitting them with hydro attacks. When all 4 pillars are active, the floor grating at the center of the labyrinth will open up as shown in the picture below.
Now jump down the hole at the center of the labyrinth. Below, you will find a luxurious chest as shown in the picture below. Open the chest to get Date’s Medal of Recognition. Now talk to the ghost named Date, standing near the luxurious chest, to start the “Date’s Challenge” world quest. Date will also give you Date’s Key.
Obtain Date’s other Medal of Recognition
Go to the objective marker in The Serpent’s Heart and use the Date’s Key on the switch next to the floor grating as shown in the picture below. This will open the grating. Now jump down the hole.
In the underground area, you will find a sealed luxurious chest. To unseal the chest you will have to solve the puzzle here. In this room, you will find 2 Levers that open 2 gates, 3 Movable walls, and 2 triangular mechanisms as shown in the picture below. To solve the puzzle, you need to move wall 1 to the row near mechanism 1, move wall 3 to the row near mechanism 2, and move wall 2 to the center row. Below I will show stepwise how to solve this puzzle.
Step 1: Switch to Whitenight
Step 2: Interact with Lever 1 to open the gate blocking wall 1
Step 3: Hit the triangular mechanism 1 twice to move Wall 1 to the row near mechanism 1 as shown in the picture below.
Step 4: Interact with Lever 1 to close the gate blocking Wall 1
Step 5: Interact with Lever 2 to open the gate opening Wall 3 as shown in the picture below
Step 6: Hit the triangular mechanism 2 twice to move Walls 2 & 3 to the row near mechanism 2 as shown in the picture below.
Step 7: Interact with Lever 2 to close the gate blocking Wall 3
Step 8: Hit the triangular mechanism 1 to move Wall 1 to the center row as shown in the picture below
Step 9: Switch to Evernight
This will solve the puzzle and the luxurious chest will be unlocked. Open the chest to get the Medal of Recognition
Obtain Date’s secret room and obtain the treasure
Now go back to Date and talk to him. Then open Date’s secret room using the Medal of Recognition. then go inside the secret room and open the chest to obtain “hydrological Studies in Byakuyakoku”
