Diablo 4: Dead in the Water Quest Walkthrough

This guide shows the complete walkthrough of the Dead in the Water side quest in the Diablo 4 game, released on 6th June 2023. You get the quest by talking to Tomaj in the Forsaken Coast area in the Hawezar region as shown in the pictures below.

Collect Salvahed Resources & Help Tomaj Burn Fresh Corpses

Go to the location shown in the picture below and defeat raiders to get Salvaged Resources. Then find three corpses in the marked area and interact with them to help Thomaj burn them. Speak with the stranded survivor there. Then bring Thomaj and Ervin back to the Backwater.

Speak with Szilvia (Lie vs Truth choices)

Talk to Tomaj in the Backwater and then Speak with Szilvia. You will get two options here as shown below:
Option 1: He’s telling the truth. I didn’t help him with his work (Lie)
Option 2: Tomaj is lying. I helped him with his work.
If you tell the truth (Option 2), then Tomaj will be thrown out from Backwater. If you lie (Option 1), then Tomaj gets to live in the Backwater, but Szilvia will say that Tomaj is still not in the clear. You get the same reward for both options.
