Recluse is one of the most mysterious and powerful characters in Elden Ring: Nightreign, and unlocking their Remembrance Quests is essential if you’re aiming for rare loot and late-game upgrades. Here’s a full step-by-step guide on how to unlock and finish all chapters of Recluse’s Remembrance storyline in Elden Ring Nightreign.
Step 1: Get a memory fragment to unlock Chapter 2
First, the player needs to either defeat any Nightlord or play enough Expeditions with the character Recluse until they collect enough Memory Fragments. Once you have gathered the required fragments, check your journal to unlock Chapter 2 and officially begin the Remembrance Quest
Step 2: Vanquish Night-tainted foes in Limveldbrance
At your base, head to the dining room where you’ll meet a man named Iron Man. He’ll ask you to collect a special item called a Night Shard.
To find it, you’ll need to go on an expedition to Limveld. While exploring, keep an eye out for enemies with a red flag above them — these are Night-Tainted foes. Defeat an enemy known as the Night Hippo to receive the Night Shard.
Bring it back to Iron Man at the Roundtable Hold. He’ll take it for research and reward you.
Step 3: Chapter 4 Remembrance
After some progress, you’ll unlock Chapter 4. Start by reading the note placed on the expedition table.
Then, head over to the Small Jar Bazaar and speak with Iron Man. Keep asking him to return your Night Shard until he gives it back.
Next, make your way to the bedroom in the Roundtable Hold, where you’ll discover someone poop on the bed. Show this mess to Iron Man to complete this part of the quest. As a reward, you’ll receive a powerful new magical item: the Vestage of Night.
Step 4: Chapter 6 Remembrance
The quest will now ask you to “Find the person lurking” in your base. Go to Iron Man and hit him 3 times. He’ll suddenly transform into a version of you but without your hat.
Next, talk to this mysterious version of yourself, who reveals the existence of a hidden place known as the Crypt.
Step 5: The Crypt and the Robot
Inside the Crypt, you’ll come across a robot that appears to be powered down. Turn him back on, and he immediately blames you for what happened. After the cut-scene, he eventually hands you a mysterious item called Bone-like Stone.
Step 6: Final Fight: Night Aspect
Defeat Night Aspect and return to the Roundtable Hold.
Step 7: Unlock Remembrance skin
Return to the bed once again, where you’ll now discover a crying baby. Gently place your hand on the infant to trigger a brief, mysterious cutscene.
Revisit the bed one final time — this time, you’ll encounter the Witch. She vanishes almost immediately, but leaves behind her clothes.
Interact with them to unlock a unique Remembrance Skin for Recluse — a special variation of the outfit without a hat.
