This article will guide you on how to complete the objective “Find a Purpose for Dawnmaster’s Crest” for the quest “Find the Blood of Lathander” in Baldur’s Gate 3.
When you approach the upper levels of Rosymorn Monastery, you will come across a room with a large stained glass window on the floor surrounded by four plaques and altars. If you interact with the stained glass window, you’ll see four previous Dawnmasters of the Rosymorn Monastery and their weapon. You must gather three weapons scattered about the monastery to solve the puzzle: Rusty Mace, Ceremonial Warhammer, and Ceremonial Battleaxe. Once you acquire all three weapons, you must place each weapon on the correct pedestal to reveal a secret safe. Within this compartment, you will find a pouch containing a letter and the Dawnmaster’s Crest.

Next, head to the Inquisitor’s chamber in Creche Y’llek. Refer to the below location. You’ll naturally reach this area as you progress through the story during the quest “The Githyanki Warrior”.
When you enter the inquisitor’s chamber, Proceed to the left. There are two statues. Adjust the one on the right side of the screen to face east, and the one on the left to face west.
This will open a secret path. Enter inside and descend the staircase. You’ll enter a Secret Chamber at the bottom. To continue your journey ahead, you’ll need to destroy the energy sources to remove the barriers.
The first source of energy is immediately to the left of the first barrier. It has 20 hit points, so simply keep striking to destroy the blue crystals and remove the barrier.
The second contains a trap that releases light waves and two blue crystals (energy sources). You must use a DC 14 Sleight of Hand check to disarm the Dawnbreaker trap. Then, on the left side of the room look for a U-shaped passage. Make use of this to go around the barrier. Destroy the blue crystals (energy sources) behind the trap.
Then descend to the ledge on the north and destroy the last Energy Source crystal.
Finally, enter the last room and proceed to the Crest Panel and insert the Dawnmaster’s Crest.
You’ll be able to claim the Blood of Lathander mace after a cutscene. It is a magical mace with healing qualities and the ability to cast Sunbeam
