Ghorim’s Replacement is one of the early side quests you’ll encounter in the Swamp Camp in Gothic 1 Remake. The quest tasks you with finding Harlok to take over Ghorim’s duties. In this walkthrough, we’ll guide you through every step of Ghorim’s Replacement in Gothic 1 Remake.
Starting Location
Enter the Swamp Camp through the main entrance and follow the path on the left. Cross the small wooden dock and continue until you reach the area where the novices are processing swampweed. You’ll find Ghorim among the workers there.
Speak with him, and he’ll explain that Harlok was supposed to take over his shift but never showed up. He’ll then ask you to find Harlok and bring him back to work.
Where to find Harlok’s
Once the quest begins, your objective is to find Harlok and send him back to replace Ghorim at the swampweed mashers under Baal Orun’s supervision. Harlok can be found below Cor Kalom’s Laboratory. If you’re unsure where the laboratory is located, speak to Lester near the Swamp Camp entrance and ask him to guide you there.
When you find Harlok, choose the dialogue option: “Get your lazy ass to the herb mashers or I’ll kick it all the way to Nordmar.” This will anger him and trigger a fight. Harlok only fights with his fists, so you can easily defeat him using your weapon.
After dealing with Harlok, return to Ghorim to complete the quest and claim your EXP reward.
