Goddard The Blind Painter: Both Choices – Lie or Tell Truth | Lies of P: Overture DLC

One of the more emotional choices in the Lies of P: Overture DLC involves Goddard, the blind painter you meet at the Zoo Tram Station. After helping her retrieve her lost painting, she asks a simple but powerful question:
“What do you see when you look at my painting?” You have the option to lie to her or tell the truth. In this guide, we’ll explore both options, their outcomes, and the emotional weight behind them.

Lie – “Incredible! It is a brilliant work of art.”

If you choose to lie and praise the painting, Goddard is deeply moved. She smiles and responds with warmth:

“Ah, you have a good eye. This painting inspired me greatly. I lost my sight, but I see the path I must walk.”

She believes that, even though the world is dark and cold, her painting brings light and hope. The lie offers her peace and validation. You can continue to progress in her questline.

Tell the Truth – “It is just a blank canvas.”

If you decide to tell her the truth, that the canvas is blank, her tone shifts instantly. She becomes angry and hurt:

“What on earth do you mean? A ridiculous statement, even for a complete art novice. Why do you even have eyes?”

Goddard is so offended that she yells at you to leave, and you can’t continue on her questline.
