This article will guide you on how to complete the Haunting Case “Hammer and Tongs” in the game Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden, released on 13th February 2024.
Starting Location
Hammer And Tongs is a Haunting Case that will triggered automatically during The Woodfolks quest in The Dark Woods. The Haunting Case: Hammer and Tongs starts here in the location marked on the map below.
Ask around about the blacksmith
Once the hunting case is initiated, go to the back of the hut and speak with the Settler Nellie (NPC).
Investigate the Heayton’s house
After you’ve finished talking to Nellie, go into the house and interact with the bed. Then, proceed to perform a Harkening ritual inside the house.
Investigate the forge
Then go to the forge and examine the four areas marked in green color. Check the workbench on the right. Then, look at the puddle of salt water to the left then the drill bit on the workbench, and the nails on the outdoor table to get the first clue.
Find Fortune
Switch to Antea and examine to find the tracks near the forge, interact with the tracks to reveal the stains.
After this start to follow the stains to find a man screaming from a cabin surrounded by two wolves. Defeat the wolves, and then speak with the man to get more clues.
Head inside the cabin and interact with the toolbox. After obtaining the clue break the barrier beside the table to exit the cabin
Find the hammer
Switch to Antea again and start following the stains to reach the end of the trail.
Find a way down
To descend down, turn back and head right to climb a rock wall. After climbing the wall head to the left.
Switch to Antea and use her dash power to teleport to the other side. On the other side make your way down to the hammer.
Defeat the enemies and interact with the hammer to trigger a scene.
Perform the Make-Manifest ritual after the cut scene and then speak with the ghost.
Rest at high cave shelter (optional)
This is an optional objective. Just follow the in-game marker to reach the shelter and take a rest.
Return to the Forge
Fast travel to the Hunter’s Camp. Return to the forge, where you will find Nellie and the imposter “blacksmith”. Confront them about their conduct to resolve the case. Here you have 4 choices to end the case: Blame Arther, Blame Nellie, Ascend Fortune, or Banish Fortune
