Act 3, The Abyss, is one of the most challenging and exciting parts of Hollow Knight: Silksong. Unlocking this area is key to progressing the story and discovering new secrets in Pharloom. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the steps to reach The Abyss.
Step 1: Finish the Main Story
Before moving on to Act 3, you need to complete the main story and defeat the final boss. It is essential, as Act 3 is only accessible once the primary storyline is completed
Step 2: Interact with the Harp in Putrified Ducts
Once the main story is complete, head to the Putrified Ducts and interact with the Harp at the end of the area. Here, the player will tell the Harp that the Fleamaster and caravan are looking for a safe space near the lake.
Step 3: Collect Fleas and Move the Caravan
Now, the player needs to collect at least 20 fleas across the game. After visiting the Harp in Putrified Ducts and collecting the required number of fleas, talk to the Fleamaster. He will move the caravan to the Putrified Ducts location.
Step 4: Get the Bellhome Key from Pavo
Visit Bellhart and speak with Pavo to receive the Bellhome Key. If you don’t get it immediately, continue completing side quests until it becomes available.
Step 5: Save the Green Prince
Head to Sinner’s Road, which you can reach from Greymoor. The Green Prince is located in a cage in the middle-lower part of the area. Use any Simple Key to free him.
Step 6: Complete Most Side Quests
To unlock Act 3, you’ll need to finish nearly every side quest in the game.
Step 7: Complete the “Silk and Soul” Quest
After completing all the sidequests, speak with the Caretaker and complete the “Silk and Soul” side quest. The caretaker will be at Songclave in the Choral chamber.
Step 8: Defeat the Final Boss Again for the “Snared Silk” Ending
To trigger the “Snared Silk” ending, defeat the final boss again. While holding the Triangle or Y button, use Needolin. This action will unlock the special ending, paving the way for Act 3.
Step 9: Start Act 3
With all the previous steps completed, you can now load your save and begin Act 3.
