How to get a Flashflies in Monster Hunter Wilds
You will get the objective of capturing Flashflies by your Palico during the side quest ‘Flash Course‘ in Monster Hunter Wilds.
Speak with your Palico at your base and he will task you to collect some flashflies to help them in their upgrade. Flashflies can be found in various locations, including Windward Plains (Areas 1, 2, 3, and 15), Scarlet Forest (Areas 6, 7, and 16), Oilwell Basin (Areas 3, 4, 9, 12, and 15), Iceshard Cliffs (Areas 4, 6, 12, and 17), and the Ruins of Wyveria (Areas 3 and 10).
Flashflies are insects that emit a bright flash of light and typically travel in large groups. Travel to any of these locations to locate Flashflies. Once you spot Flashflies, use your capture net to aim at the Flashflies, and fire to catch them.
