In this guide, we’ll break down where to find Yian Kut-Ku creatures in Monster Hunter Wilds, the best strategies to catch them, and any special conditions you’ll need to watch out for.
How to catch a Yian Kut-Ku
You will get the objective of capturing a Yian Kut-Ku by NPC Alma during the side quest ‘New Ecosystems‘ in Monster Hunter Wilds.
Alma will give you two items—EZ Shock Traps and EZ Tranq Bombs to help you capture Yian Kut-Ku, as shown in below image.
After receiving these items, move these two items into your Item Pouch, as shown in the below image. Note: There is a chance you might not get these two items because of a bug. If that happens, you can craft these two items also.
After getting these items, fight the monster as usual until it is very weak and about to die. When it has lost most of its health and is about to be defeated, first uses the EZ Shock Traps to capture the Monster. Once the Monster is trapped quickly throw EZ Tranq Bombs on the monster to capture the monster.
Note: The monster will escape from the trap after a few seconds if you take too long to throw the EZ Tranq Bombs or if it still has too much health and is not weak enough.
Once the monster is successfully captured, the quest will be completed.
