Monster Hunter Wilds is full of rare and elusive creatures, and for hunters who love fishing and collecting endemic life then Dapperwing and Goldenfish are must-have catches. In this guide, we’ll break down where to find each of these creatures, the best strategies to catch them, and any special conditions you’ll need to watch out for.
How To Catch Dapperwing
Dapperwing is a small bird with long tails that you can find in the Scarlet Forest. They’re tricky to spot as these birds perched on the trees around the forest and easily blend with the environment.
You will get the objective to capture a Dapperwing during the side quest ‘Samin’s Special Research Report‘. The Dapperwing can be found throughout the Scarlet Forest. The best place to start is to look for Dapperwing around your base.
After spotting a Dapperwing, start to move slowly toward it so they don’t fly away. Since they usually rest on trees high above the ground, they can be tricky to reach. You can climb the tree a little before using your net or mount on Seikret to the extra bit of higher and make catching them easier.
How To Catch Goldenfish
You will get the objective to capture a Goldenfish by NPC Kanya during the side quest ‘Seeking the Goldenfish‘ in Monster Hunter Wilds.
Goldenfish can be found in Area 8 of the Scarlet Forest. A recommended location to catch them is inside the waterfall cave in Area 8. The Goldenfish spawns in the underground pool inside a waterfall cave in Area 8.
Go to the location marked on the map in Area 8 and enter the waterfall cave.
To catch a Goldenfish, you must use the Golden Bughead Bait that Kanya provides at the beginning of this quest. This special bait is essential for attracting the Goldenfish.
