How to Coop in Elden Ring
Enden Ring has a 4-Player co-op option. Although playing Co-op in Elden Ring is different from other games. It’s not as simple as inviting your friends on Steam. For Coop, you will be needing special items. But first, enable your network setting as shown in the picture below. Open the main menu, go to settings and there go to the network Tab. Make sure that “Send Summon Sign” is enabled and the Launch Setting is “Play Online.
Once the multiplayer settings are enabled, you can either join someone else’s game or let someone else join your game. Here I will explain how to do all these things.
How to join your friend’s or a Random’s game
There are a few ways for you to join someone else’s game. One way is by using “Tarnished’s Furled Finger” and the other by using “Small Golden Effigy”. I Will explain both ways in this guide.
Note: If you beat a boss in Someone else’s game, it won’t be counted in your game.
Tarnished’s Furled Finger
You will find Tarnished’s Furled Finger near the site of grace in Stranded Graveyard as shown in the picture below. This is the tutorial area of the game. You will also get Finger Severer along with Tarnished’s Furled Finger. Finger Severer will be used for kicking out a player from your game or for leaving a coop game.
Once you have Tarnished’s Furled Finger, open the main menu and go to the Multiplayer Tab.
Select Tarnished’s Furled Finger to leave a summon sign anywhere you want. If you want only your friend to see your summon sign, then set a password. Only a person using the same password will be able to see your summon sign.
The summon sign you place can be seen in golden color as shown below. Inform your friend about the location of the sign, and they can accept your join request. Anyone else who sees your summon request can also accept it. Once your summon request is accepted, you will get a notification as shown in the second picture below. Please remember that if you beat a boss in someone else’s game, it won’t be counted in your game. You will need to summon players to your game if you want help in beating a boss.
Small Golden Effigy
It can be found near the first site of Grace that you find in Limgrave as shown in the pictures below. Small Golden Effigy is found in the summoning pool (see the second picture below). It doesn’t matter where you use the Small Golden Effigy, the summon sign will appear in the nearby summoning pool. The chances of your summon request being accepted increase when you use the Small Golden Effigy, as the sign appears in the summon pool only and most of the players look for a coop partner near the summon pool. It is used mainly to play with randoms. Tarnished’s Furled Finger is used mainly to play with friends, it requires you to convey your summon sign location. If you place your summon sign using Tarnished’s Furled Finger in the summon pool, then it acts the same as the Small Golden Effigy. Please remember that if you beat a boss in someone else’s game, it won’t be counted in your game. You will need to summon players to your game if you want help in beating a boss

Furcalling Finger Remedy
You can purchase Furcalling Finger Remedy, from the vendor inside the Church of Elleh for 1000 Runes as shown in the pictures below.
A much simple way to get Furcalling Finger Remedy is by crafting. You can purchase the Crafting Kit from the same vendor for 300 Runes.
To craft a Furcalling Finger Remedy, you will need two Erdleaf Flowers. They can be found in plenty around the map. They are star-shaped yellow flowers as shown in the picture below.
Once you have a Furcalling Finger Remedy, on the multiplayer menu and use one. This will make all the summon signs that other players have placed appear in your game (See the second picture below). You can go near any golden summon sign and accept anyone’s request to join your game. Usually, you will find many summon signs near the summon pool. Now any boss you defeat in the coop will progress your game further. If you want to play only with your friend, then make sure to set a password. Only the summon signs from the players using the same password will appear in your game. Along with the yellow signs, you will also find red signs in the game. The red signs are from the players who want to PvP.
