This step-by-step guide will show you How to completely disable the Steel Watch in the Quest “Save the Gondians” in Baldur’s Gate 3 (2023). Save the Gondians is a side quest that you can pick up while exploring the Lower City in Baldur’s Gate 3
Start the Quest (Talk to Zanner Toobin)
Head to the Steel Watch Foundry, which is located in the Lower City’s southwestern region. Since this area is heavily guarded you need to use the “Greater Invisibility” spell and lockpick the gate.
Enter the main building and head to the left to proceed to the back of the building. Go through a large security door to meet Zanner Toobin, a Gondian prisoner who works at the Steel Watch Foundry.
Talk to him and he will ask you to save his brothers first. This will initiate the quest.
Find the Prison
Zanner will inform you that the location of the hostage inmates is a secret and that we can uncover a hint about it inside the Foundry’s basement floor.
Descend the stairs and defeat the enemies. Continue hugging the right side of the wall before climbing the stairs to reach a ladder. Climb to the top to find a different piece of paper labeled Vessel Identified on a shelf.
Read this sheet of paper to figure out where the Gondians are imprisoned.
Go to the Prison
Head over to the Flymm Cargo at the dock in the southern part of the Lower City. Pick the locks of the large metal doors. Defeat the pack of enemies inside and enter into it.
Inside the building, you will find a hatch on the left side. Interact with this hatch to enter the basement.
Continue south across the room until you reach a large door labeled “Machine Parts Storage” Enter into it and proceed through the “Subaquatic docks” door.
The doors open onto an area with a metal bridge and water. Head to the middle of the metal bridge to meet Redhammer the Deviser.
Speak with Redhammer and tell him you’re looking for the Iron Throne. You must pass either [Persuade] or [Intimidate]. Next, use the hatch to enter the submersible vehicle.
Save the hostages (including Duke Ulder Ravengard)
This will start a cutscene, which will be immediately stopped by Lord Enver Gortash’s dialogue.
Rescue Grand Duke Ravengard and Gondians
After this conversation, you can exit the submersible and go save Duke Ulder Ravengard and the other prisoners. You will find Duke Ulder Ravengard on the eastern side of the Iron Throne.
The water pressure is causing the Iron Throne to crush. Your goal is unlocking the prison cells and eliminating enemies along the path to save as many Gondians as possible since
Defeat any enemies that spawn in the Iron Throne until Mizora’s appearance. Finish your conversation with Mizora, then return to the submersible vehicle.
Check on the Survivors
Finally, talk to the Duke and other survivors.
Protect the Gondians
Return to Steel Watch Foundry, kill all the enemies, and rescue Gondian workers and Zanner Toobin.
Explore the Steel Watch Foundry’s Depths
Go to Steel Watch Foundry’s Depths along with Zanner Toobin and pick the control level key from Hahns Rives.
Next, go to the Control Centre Antechamber and defeat Titan.
Steel Watch Foundry Control Center
You’ll need to speak to Toobin again after the Titan is defeated. Interact with the Steel Watch Foundry Control Center to destroy and disable the Steel Works facility
