During the chapter Long Forgotten Flame, you’ll get an objective “Search for the Black Flame“. Black Flame or Nu Udra is the powerful monster that rules the Oilwell Basin in Monster Hunter Wilds. This guide will help you find Nu Udra, the apex predator, in Monster Hunter Wilds, which came out on February 28, 2025.
The Black Flame Location
Black Flame is located in the lowest part of the Oilwell Basin. Open your map and change the layer to the lowest level, as shown in the map.
Black Flame is located in Area 13 at the location shown in the picture below. Go past the narrow tunnel and go further down the slope at the marked location, to reach a Volcanoic Area, where the Black Flame is located. To reach there, set the waypoint to a nearby location. For example, I will set the waypoint to the Chillmantle Bug located in the narrow tunnel leading to the Black Flame as shown in the second picture below. Now hop on Seikret and it will automatically take you to Chillmantle Bug.
Go pat the Chillmantle Bug and climb down the slope to reach the, where you will finally find the Black Flame monster as shown in the picture below.
