In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to complete the objective ‘Gather Information’ for the side quest “Arbitrary Measures” in The Outer Worlds 2.

Gather Information at the Refugee Camp
After accepting the quest ‘Arbitrary Measures’ from NPC Tristan, return to your ship and travel to Dorado. The refugee camp is located on the southwestern side of Golden Ridge, just west of the Guardian Estates fast travel point.
Once you reach Dorado, you will find Tristan waiting at the camp entrance. Now, your task is to investigate the area and find five clues to learn what happened.
Access the Camp Terminal
When you arrive at the Refugee Camp, head into the room on the left (as shown on the map). Inside, you’ll find a computer terminal. Interact with it to retrieve the first set of information.
Investigate the Damaged Automech
Go to the northern part of the camp and inspect the damaged automech.
Find the Wrecked Transmission Tower
Go to the western part of the camp and inspect the giant transmission tower.
Examine the Dead Body
The next clue can be obtained by examining one of the corpses of the fallen Refugee.
Investigate the Radio Tower
The radio tower is located on top of the building, just beside where you find the Damaged Automech.
Survive the Ambush
After gathering all the necessary clues, a group of automechs will launch an attack on the refugee camp. Defeat them, then speak with Tristan again. He’ll ask you to meet him back at The 2nd Choice Saloon in Free Market Station.
Return to the Free Market Station
After returning to The 2nd Choice Saloon, speak with the bartender and explain what happened at the Refugee Camp.
Next, head down to the saloon’s basement and inspect the broken lamp on the door. This will reveal a hidden passage leading to Francis Min’s secret office. Once inside, speak with Francis Min.
After finishing the conversation, go outside the saloon to meet Tristan, where you’ll have the option to either accept him as a companion or decline his offer.
