As you start playing Elden Ring, the first thing you will need to do is unlock the horse. Elden Ring is an open-world game and a horse will make traveling around the map quick. It will also help you to scale steep terrain. In addition to the transport, the horse also allows you to perform some amazing moves in combat. this guide shows how to unlock the horse (Torrent) in the game as quickly as you can.
How to get Horse/ Torrent Mount
You won’t get a horse directly at the start of the game. But you can get it easily enough without even engaging in any combat. To get the horse, you will need to rest at three sites of grace in the open world (Sites of grace inside caves & Dungeons don’t count). The simplest three sites of grace in Limgrave that you can rest at are marked in the picture below. You can reach these three places without even having to engage in combat.
As soon as you enter Limgrave, you will see the first site of grace next to an NPC as shown below. Go north from here and the second one will be inside a ruined church kind of structure as shown below. From there, go further north and you will find the third site of grace in the Gatefront as shown in the second picture below.
Upon resting on the third site of grace, an NPC named Melina will appear and give you Spectral Steel Whistle, which you can use to summon your Steed (Torrent).
How to summon Horse
The Spectral Steel Whistle will go to your inventory. Open the inventory and use the ring to summon your horse. If your spectral steed dies, you can summon it again, but it will cost you one flask of Crimson Tears to do so.
You can also add the ring to your Pouch as shown below. By doing this you will be able to summon your horse without opening the inventory.
