Ihen-a Shrine: Midair Perch

This guide shows how to complete the Midair Perch Puzzle in the Ihen-a Shrine in the Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom game, released on 12th May 2023. The Ihen-a Shrine is at the location shown in the pictures below. You won’t be able to enter the shrine as there will be mud all over it. To unlock it, you will need water. Hit the shrine with Splash Fruit to clear the mud. Then enter the shrine.

Inside the shrine, you will find green floating devices. Hit the device to activate/inactivate it. Once activated, the green device stays at the place where it is kept. Activate a green device and place it near the top of the platform as shown in the picture below. Use ascend to reach the top of the green device. Then step on the platform ahead.

In the next area, you will find another green device. Activate it and place it in the gap as shown in the picture below. Then use the Ultrahand ability to attach the grating there on top of the green device to construct a makeshift bridge as shown in the second picture below.

Use the bridge to cross the gap. Then pick it up and place it at an angle on the next gap as shown in the picture below. Use the makeshift bridge again to cross the gap and continue to the next area.

In the next area, activate a green device and place it near the top of the platform with the chest as shown in the picture below. Use ascend to reach the chest and open it to get Arrow x5.

In this area, you will see a green device on the tracks. Deactivate it to bring it down. Then place the sphere on it and climb up the device as shown in the picture below. Hit the green device to activate it. Then shoot the switch nearby. This will shoot the green device ahead across the gap to the next area.

After crossing the gap, hop off the green device. Then grab the sphere and insert it into the hole as shown in the picture below. This will open the iron gate there. Go through it to get the blessing and complete the shine.
