This article will guide the player on where to Investigate Ogre’s Cave and Abandoned Homestead for the side quest ‘Steel Resolve‘ from the Shatterscrap region in Avowed.
As players go through the side quest “Steel Resolve,” they will need to explore Ogre’s Cave. Ogre’s Cave is in the northern part of the Emerald Stair region. To get there, go northwest from the Grim Wetlands and Sunken Village until you reach the Infected Camp, as shown on the map.
At the location, you’ll see a locked door with two plates that must be activated. To activate the first plate, break the wooden barrier on the right and hit the panel with an electric spell.
For the second plate, follow the overhead wire leading to a receptor. Hit the receptor with an electric spell to activate it. Once both plates are activated, the door will open.
Go inside, climb the wooden platforms, and jump across the gap.
Then, go up the hill and enter Ogre’s Cave. Keep moving through the tunnel until you reach a big cavern where you will find Ulrask the ogre.
Defeat Ulrask and the other enemies that appear. Finally, loot Ulrask and Ranger Monato’s body to get the Journal of Ranger Monato.
Investigate the Abandoned Homestead
Proceed to the Overgrown Homestead, located northwest of Naku Tedek Grounds. You will find NPC Ranger Verano locked inside a cell. Use an Ice Attack Spell on the cell to break it and free NPC Ranger Verano.
