This guide shows the location of all Nornir Chests and how to solve the puzzles to open these chests in the Midgard region of God of War Ragnarok. There is a total of 4 Nornir Chests in the area.
1) Well of Urd Nornir Chest
The chest is at the location shown in the pictures below. To unlock the chest, you will have to light three torches.
Torch #1 is on the right side of the chest as shown in the picture below. Ignite it with your blade. Torch #3 is above Torch #1 and Torch #2 is on top of the mountain wall on the left side of the chest. To reach those torches, grapple on the mountain wall on the right side of Torch #1. Then lean right and grapple to the hook on the opposite mountain wall. From there, you will be able to see Torch #3 as shown in the second picture below. Jump to the platform above Torch #3 and then go left to find Torch #2 as shown in the third picture below. Use your blade to ignite Torch #2. Then jump down to the platform near Torch #3 and ignite it using your blade. This will unlock the chest. Open it to get an Idunn Apple.
2) The Oarsmen Nornir Chest
The chest is at the location shown in the pictures below. To unlock the chest, you need to hit three seals in quick succession.
One of the seals is behind a closed gate on the right side of the chest. So first, you will need to open this gate. To do that, climb up the wall behind the chest as shown in the picture below. Then go straight ahead and climb up the golden chain on the right side. Then jump down to the other side. There you will have to move a giant chain as shown in the second picture below. This will reveal a staircase on the left side. Climb down the stairs and then you will be able to open the gate from the other side.
Now to unlock the chest, you will have to hit three seals in quick succession. Stand at the location as shown in the picture below. From here you will be able to see all three seals. Hit Seal #1, which is on the left side of the chest. Then turn left and hit Seal #2. After that hit Seal #3, which is on the right side of the chest. Now open the chest to get an Idunn Apple.
3) Raider Hideout Nornir Chest
The chest is at the location shown in the pictures below. To unlock the chest, you will have to ignite three torches.
On the right side of the chest, you will see some golden debris as shown in the picture above. Pick up the grenade there and throw at the debris to destroy it, revealing the torch behind it. Now throw a grenade at the torch to ignite it.
Torch #2 is behind the red vines on the left side of the chest as shown in the picture below. Shoot the vines with purple arrows and throw a grenade at them to cause an explosion and burn the vines, revealing the torch behind it. Now you can throw a grenade on the torch and ignite it.
Torch #3 is hanging on top of the giant pit on the right side of the cave as shown in the picture below. The torch is very far and it is difficult to hit it with a grenade. Shoot purple arrows on the torch as shown in the second picture below. Then hit it with a grenade to ignite the torch. This will unlock the chest. Open it to get an Idunn Apple.
4) The Lost Treasury Nornir Chest
The chest is on the right side of the giant wheel of The Lost Treasury at the location shown in the picture below. To unlock the chest, you will have to ignite three torches.
Move the wheel to the left. This will reveal Torch #1 as shown in the picture below. Shoot purple arrows and then hit the arrow with your blade to create an explosion, igniting the torch.
Now use the wheel to climb up the wall on the left side as shown in the picture below. Defeat the enemies there and then turn right to see Torch #2 as shown in the second picture below. Shoot purple arrows and then hit the arrow with your blade to create an explosion, igniting the torch.
Now go back down and move the giant wheel to the right side and use it to climb up the wall on the right side as shown in the picture below. Hit the explosive barrel there. This will make the pillar behind it break and fall down. Move the fallen pillar to the left as shown in the second picture below. Then climb down and move the wheel to its left. Climb up again and push the broken pillar to the left. The pillar will start overhanging from the wall. Now climb down and move the when to the right. This time the wheel will be blocked midway by the overhanging pillar as shown in the third picture below. The gate behind the wheel will be accessible now. Rotate the crank in front of the wheel to open the gate. Then freeze the two gears on either side of the wheel as shown in the third picture below. Now go inside and you will find Torch #3 on the right side as shown in the fourth picture below. Shoot purple arrows and then hit the arrow with your blade to create an explosion, igniting the torch. This will unlock the chest. Open it to get a Horn of Blood Mead.
